CHILLICOTHE – Danbarry Cinemas is excited to partner with the Cinema Foundation to celebrate the second annual National Cinema Day this Sunday, Aug. 27.

Danbarry Cinemas in Chillicothe, TriCity Theatre in Jackson, and Silver Screen VII in Gallipolis will all be participating in the one-day event, which celebrates the power of movies to bring us all together, and discounted admissions for all movies in all formats will be no more than $4.

These three local theaters will also be offering free refills on all popcorn and fountain drinks, as well as other special promotions to be announced.

To celebrate National Cinema Day on Aug. 27, moviegoers will be able to enjoy dozens of movies including new films opening this weekend like "Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story," "The Hill," and "Retribution," as well as current box office hits like "Barbie," "Oppenheimer," "Meg 2: The Trench" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem."

Danbarry Cinemas a 10-screen theater situated behind the Zane Plaza off of Bridge Street, re-opened under new ownership in November 2021 featuring laser projection systems and all-new Dolby surround sound systems. Danbarry continues to offer a wide range of films from Box Office Blockbusters to select limited-release films. A party room is available for all of your event needs.

TriCity Theater was the first theater in Southeastern Ohio to feature all digital projection and sound - TCT continues to feature Dolby 3-D for select films. Friendly staff and comfortable seating, a great concession selection, and budget-friendly pricing make it a great family theater.

Silver Screen VII is a recently modernized theater with stadium seating and 7.1 surround sound in each of its seven screening auditoriums. SSVII guests love the butter-your-own popcorn station with a unique topping bar experience.

All three theaters are locally owned & operated and accommodate a regular schedule of first-run films. Assistive devices are available for visually and audio-impaired guests.
